Board Chair
Michael Little |
Dover
Township:
F. Frank Sadeghi, hired as Planning Board Engineer in February, has resigned
suddenly and recommended the Board hire a “full scale engineering
organization” to replace him.
Sadeghi
Helped Dump Cagliostro
Sadeghi, also
a Posse leader and School board member, was hired after he helped dump
former Planning Board Engineer Lawrence Cagliostro, also the Township
Engineer, who got $30,000 a year for the Planning Board job.

Carmine Inteso

Cagliostro was
dumped from his Planning Board position by a coalition of development
interests including Sadeghi, Board Chairman Michael Little, employed by the
largest real estate and development firm in town, and Posse Chief and then
Deputy “Mayor” Carmine Inteso.
Sadeghi
Could Have Earned Up To $150,000
The coalition
appointed Sadeghi to replace Cagliostro and, three months later, the
township committee passed an ordinance setting up a township “escrow”
account to allow Sadeghi to bill the township as much as $150,000 a year for
the services for which Cagliostro got $30,000.
The ordinance
was defended by newly appointed committeewoman Virginia Haines who said
“other towns have these fees in place”.
Why Did Sadeghi Get Off The Gravy Train?
So why did
Sadeghi, having caught up with the gravy train, decide to get off. Some of
the possible answers are interesting, but since we don’t know yet who’s
right, we won’t make a final judgement until we do.
In his letter
of resignation to Chairman Little, Sadeghi said he “always merely viewed the
position as a custodian of the position until the Townhip committee
implemented the mechanics needed to attract a full scale Engineering
Organization”. That’s really what he said.
Crude and
clumsy double talk?
Not even a
good try? Obviously untrue? All of the above?
More on the
Sadghi gravy train derailment soon.
