More Tax Increases From Sadeghi And Vasil In $35 Million December 10th Referendum For New Middle School?

Two Toms River School Board Members Hid Their Complicity In Massive Overdevelopment That Produced The “Need” For New Schools, Overcrowding And Gridlocked Traffic; And Now Sadeghi And Vasil Won’t Help Taxpayers Offset The Huge Overdevelopment Tax Increase They Helped Cause

Dover Township: Posse Coordinator Frank Sadeghi, a School Board member and resigned Planning board Engineer collaborated earlier this year with incumbent School board member Betty Vasil, running for re-election, and Republican Boss R. C. Clement to try to cover up the largest school tax increase in three years in Dover Township.

Sadeghi And Vasil Voted For Tax & Spending Increases, Down Payments On Overdevelopment Taxes

Sadeghi and Betty Vasil both voted for the big tax increase when they approved a huge spending increase, both items a down payment on the looming overdevelopment tax increase that may reach $40 million a year within a few years if something is not done to acquire enough open space very quickly.

Then Sadeghi and Vasil sent out a letter signed by Boss Clement, telling GOP voters the school tax increase never happened.

Boss R. C. Clement Caught In Another Lie

Clement, who institutionalized lying in GOP campaign literature, said in the letter: “Vasil and Malik practice the Republican philosophy of fiscal responsibility. In fact they’ve successfully managed to fund our Children’s education for the last three years without a tax increase”.

The tax increase in the budget was 2.8¢ and was the biggest tax increase in three years, the second in the three year period. Sadeghi and Boss Clement were lying to the voters again.

Vasil And Her Husband Are Recipients Of Republican Patronage

The presumptuous and transparently inaccurate letter, which was never challenged by their clueless patronage seeking Democratic opponents for seats on the school board (one of whom was the local Democratic chairman), led to the re-election of Vasil, a Republican political appointee with a county job and a husband who Boss Clement created a cushy “human resources” job for a few years ago.

Sadeghi Resigned Recently As Planning Board Engineer

Sadeghi, an engineer representing developers as well as a school board member, resigned recently as planning board engineer a few months after “Mayor” Carmine Inteso and other township committee members handed him an appointment as Planning Board Engineer, and amended township ordinances to give Sadeghi access to an “Escrow” account where he could have “earned” as much as $150,000 a year servicing developers’ applications.

School Board Won’t Help Counter Overdevelopment

As members of the school board, both Sadeghi and Vasil have steadfastly resisted any plan where the school board makes any contribution to help offset the overdevelopment and overcrowding they helped to cause in the community.

Without help from the school board, many observers note that developers, many of whom have been clients of Sadeghi or attorneys he deals with, or patronage recipients of the local Republican leadership where Sadeghi is a fixture, have gotten the upper hand.

$35 Million Referendum On More Schools And Higher Taxes

Sadeghi and Vasil, despite the overdevelopment credibility problem, have scheduled a December 10th referendum for $35 million in schools and taxes they say are necessary because of excessive growth they helped to cause by catering to development interests in exchange for political perks.

Why would voters want to go along with $35 Million in new schools and another $10 million a year to support them if Sadeghi and Vasil and the school board won’t help counter overdevelopment they helped to cause??
