“Top Ten Citizens Instrumental In The Successful Adoption Of The Change
Of Government In Dover Township”
|

Versacio |
|

Varano |
Two Of
Them Are From Manchester Township, And One Of Them Is From Berkeley Township
But The
Other Seven Are From Dover Township And Their Identities Are Very
Predictable
Ted Versacio - Dover
Township
And
Berkeley Mayor Jason Varano
Ted Versacio - “Cheech” Versacio is a no nonsense American
original. Let’s get down to basics.
None of this would have happened (the successful change of government
project) if Ted Versacio didn’t spend a hundred and fifty hours of his time
in super market parking lots hawking petition signatures one at a time.
When the word came down that 10,000 signatures were needed instead of the
originally planned 7000, Ted was tired, but he went right back into the
streets and did a lot more than his share.
The taxpayers of Dover Township are in his debt big time - IF they pay
attention and make sure the people who are elected next November are not the
same bunch of warmed over phonies that dedicated people like Ted Versacio
worked so hard to get rid of in the public interest.
Ted is also an Ocean County Politics Dot Commentator.

Jason Varano - Berkeley Mayor Jason Varano is on the list
because he and Berkeley’s seven member (four wards) council may be the least
greedy group of public officials in any big community anywhere, when it
comes to helping themselves to big salaries.
They didn’t even know it at the time, but they were absolutely indispensable
to the Citizens Alert Change Of Government crusade.
Mayor Varano could have black jacked the council like Scarpelli did in Brick
Township and oozed his way into a big salary.
But he didn’t, and that made all the difference in answering the lies being
circulated by developers and a group of greedy Republican special interests,
including Boss R. C. Cl.ement.
Mayor Jason Gets $8500; Council Gets $8000 Each
So when Boss Clement and the development interests trotted out the lie that
"the mayor will get a $75,000 raise" if the government changes, Citizens
Alert leaders simply trotted out Mayor Varano's salary of $8500 (after four
years in office) as proof that Boss Clement and the developers were lying.
In point of fact, no mayor in the history of local government ever got a
$75,000 raise anywhere in the western hemisphere.
The claim that the new government change-over would cost $6 million was
equally disingenuous.
Varano, A Real Mayor, Gets Less Than Joke
Mayors In Dover Township
Far from getting a $75,000 raise, Varano is a real mayor in a community
where the local government makes real decisions in the public interest.
Berkeley has exactly the same government as the one on the ballot and
approved for Dover Township.
Mayor Varano earns less than “Mayor” Carmine “Camera Crusher” Inteso.
But Inteso, the latest in the succession of bogus joke "mayors" in Toms
River, wouldn’t recognize the public interest if he fell over it in the
middle of a South Side Johnny concert.
