Richard Larsen |
Dover Township: The Democrat candidate-accountant who falsely accused
the Dover Municipal Utilities Authority auditor of “hiding millions of
dollars in DMUA reserves” filed a campaign disclosure report that hid large
amounts of campaign money for months, including numerous large campaign
contributions.
Candidate Richard Larsen, the accountant, compromised his professional
reputation by falsely accusing the Dover Municipal Utilities Authority
auditor of “hiding reserves” in a political press release prepared by
“Doctor” John Moriarty, the Democratic boss and self-styled political cult
leader.
Larsen Lied About “Hidden” DMUA $$$,
But Filed Reports Hiding $68,000 In Contributions
The DMUA audit revealed that the reserves were right out in sight. Larsen
simply lied about them.
But OceanCountyPolitics•Com has learned that Larsen was the sole
candidate signatory of legally required disclosure reports which withheld
important details on more than $68,000 in campaign contributions which were
hidden for months and used, in part, to pay “Doctor” Moriarty.
Larsen Campaign Paid $51,000 In “Consulting Fees”,
Contributions Hidden For Months, To Boss Moriarty
The Larsen campaign paid more than $50,000 in “consulting fees” in less than
eight months directly into Moriarty’s personal business, “Words, Words,
Words” from a total of four different political action and campaign
committees registered to Dover Township Democrats who are political cult
followers of Moriarty.
The $51,000 crescendo of Moriarty payments culminated with a $12,000 check
written to “Words, Words, Words” on election day 2001. The $51,000 in
“consulting fees” was in addition to numerous “media buy” payments also made
by the Richard Larsen Democratic campaign to Moriarty’s consulting company.
Instead of giving directly to the Democratic campaigns, many of “Doctor”
Moriarty’s contributors send their contributions to the Democratic
Chairman’s Fund, a “Political Action” Committee.
Many have also sent contributions to both the Campaign Fund and the
Chairman’s Fund and to other PAC’s set up by Moriarty and the Dover
Democrats. Numerous payments were also made to former Democratic Chairman
Christopher Colavito, Moriarty’s employee.
Four Different Democrat Political Committees,
All Paying Money To “Doctor” Moriarty
One contribution of $10,000 on August 28, 2001, from an Alexander Thomas of
Eatontown, was routed through a committee called “Dover Dems”,different from
the “Democratic Chairman’s Fund”, and different from the “Dover Dems 2001
Victory Fund”, and different from the “Larsen for Committee” campaign fund,
all of which were set up last year to receive contributions and make
significant expenditures, many of which found their way back to “Doctor”
Moriarty and his words “consulting” company.
Now You See It (Patronage Distribution), Now
You Don’t - Until January 15th The Following Year
The campaign fund contributions have to be reported either before or shortly
after the election.
But Chairman’s Fund contributions are reported quarterly, and the “Quarters”
are set up so contributions received in October or November can be withheld
until January 15th of the following year.
The Democrat campaign is still withholding details on more than $40,000 in
fund contributions, maybe a lot more.
So Boss Moriarty and his two puppets, accountant Larsen and Mayor Designate
“Doctor” John Furey can, if they can line up a third vote, proceed with the
distribution of patronage, paid for by the taxpayers, at the new year, and
nobody will know the full extent of campaign contributions by the lucky
patronage recipients, or total payments to Boss Moriarty, until January 15th
when the Election Law Enforcement Commission disclosure reports are filed.
Will the Chairman’s Fund report of January 15, 2003, required to be filed by
party Chairman Jeff J. Horn, one of Moriarty’s cult followers, be
interesting reading?? Bet on it!!
(for 12/13/02)
Stay tuned to OCPolitics•Com for much more on the Moriarty payment and
contribution disclosure drama as time marches into the New Year.
