Even Though Many Think Larsen Lied Repeatedly, The Attorney Who Runs Democrat “Chairmans” Fund Says “Any Allegations Regarding My Client Are Wholly Meritless”

Dover Township: Democrat Municipal Chairman Jeffrey J. Horn is threatening legal action if Dover Municipal Utilities Authority officials continue to defend themselves against attacks by newly elected Democrat Richard Larsen.

Acting with a level of double standard rare even in Dover Township where hypocrisy is even more common than election law violations, Horn used double talk to convey Larsen’s displeasure at having his DMUA dissolution plan exposed as a phoney.

Larsen wants to dissolve the DMUA and turn its reserves over to the township committee to save him and Mayor-designate “Doctor” John Furey the trouble of making cuts in the out-of-control township budget next year.

Larsen Falsely Accused DMUA Of “Hiding” Funds

Larsen accused DMUA officials of “hiding” millions of dollars in reserve funds, but the reserve funds were discovered right where they were supposed to be in the audit where Larsen’s firm put them when they did the DMUA audit five years ago, giving rise to speculation among some Democrats that Larsen, billed as “the accountant” in more than 100,000 campaign fliers circulated by cult leader “Doctor” John Moriarty, might wish to consider a more suitable profession the next time around.

Township Government Screws Up Nearly Everything It Touches

The Larsen “dissolution” plan would jeopardize the safety and integrity of the township’s sewer system, destroy one of the most successful and productive public agencies in the state, and turn its assets over to a township government which screws up nearly everything it touches.

Huge Tax Increase And World Class Sewer Rate Hike

The Larsen plan, after an initial phase of drunken sailor spending to pay off every special interest the Moriarty Democrats made promises to during the Larsen-Rodgers election campaign, would also produce a huge tax increase and a world class sewer rate increase.

One Of The Cruelest Lies Ever Circulated In Ocean County

Misrepresentations about the DMUA are not the only liberties the Moriarty-Democrats took with the truth during the current year. Horn and Larsen are among the originators, with Rodgers and Moriarty, of one of the cruelest lies ever circulated in Ocean County by representatives of a major political party. Horn Also Made Wild Charges Against Sen. John Russo

Horn is also the verbal attacker of Senator John Russo on election night.

When the polls closed after the recent election, Chairman Horn berated the Senator in the most violent terms, accusing him and his son, Township Committeeman John Russo Jr. of being “disloyal” and responsible for the defeat of candidate Thomas Rodgers.

Bullet Vote Campaign

According to Horn, who is the second in a series of Moriarty clones to serve as local Democratic chairman, the Russos ran a “bullet vote” campaign that beat Rodgers. Nothing, of course, could be further from the truth. Senator Russo did everything he was asked to do for the local campaign.

Sen. Russo Gave More Than $6000; Raised More

He contributed more than $6000; raised even more from other sources; recorded a personal message for 10,000 telephone calls, and put his name on thousands of letters circulated for Rodgers’ direct mail campaign.

Rodgers’ basic problem, and the main reason he lost in a very close election, was “Doctor” Moriarty, the self appointed local Democrat boss and publicist who, for the second year in a row, was more interested in collecting unprecedented fees for "consulting services" than he was in using issues that could have easily won for both local Democrats.                  (for 12/27/02)
