Larsen Repeats His Assertion: “You’ll

Copies Of Possibly Slanderous Campaign Literature, But Larsen ("The
Accountant") Predicts Serious Budget Crisis And Says He Will Meet With
Treasurer And Take Pro-Active Steps To Minimize Potential Shortfall
Dover Township: A contingent of anti-Russo Democrats
(dedicated to the political demise of “Mayor” John Russo and his father,
former Sen. John Russo Sr.) attended last night’s meeting of the lame duck
township committee, and when OCPolitics•Com editor Rich Schiff was
told by Moriarty-Democrat Committeeman Richard Larsen that he still wouldn’t
turn over Democratic campaign literature from the recent campaign, unless
Schiff “gets a court order from a judge”, the group of twelve or fourteen
anti-Russo citizens broke out in a round of applause.
Seemed An Odd Time For Citizens To Applaud
It seemed an odd time for this or any other group of citizens to applaud,
with a member of the township committee so ashamed about what slander might
be found in “Doctor” Jack Moriarty’s 2002 file of general election campaign
fliers, that he would withhold them at all costs short of being dragged
before a judge for a court order.

Boss R.C. Clement |
For Sheer Volume Of Lies, Nothing
Beats The GOP Campaign
For sheer volume of lies, nothing beats the campaign conducted by Boss R. C.
Clement and the Republican team of Virginia Haines and Michael Fiure.
But Democrat Lies Were
More Odious And More Offensive
But one or two of the Democrat lies transacted by publicist “Doctor” Jack
Moriarty were so odious and so culpable that they deeply offended everyone
who read the Larsen literature carefully enough to understand the import of
what Larsen, Rodgers and Moriarty were saying to the public.

Editor Schiff |
OceanCountyPolitics•Com Will Continue To Press
For Turnover Of Offensive Democrat Fliers
Editor Schiff said he would continue to press for a complete collection of
fliers, saying the cascade of lies from the last campaign “tainted and
corrupted the whole political dialogue in Dover Township: even if we have to
put out a reward offer, we’ll get our hands on this stuff eventually.”
Larsen charged that the OCPolitics WebSite was “unfair” to him
and “Doctor” Moriarty, calling it “a political WebSite that indulges in
“name-calling” and “innuendo”.
Thoughts Immediately Focused On Anti-Russo “Name-Calling”

Senator
John F. Russo Sr. |
Schiff held his tongue and stifled a smirk and let Larsen ramble on even
though the thoughts of everyone in the room were immediately focused on the
WebSite (theRussoWatch•Com) recently started by Larsen and Moriarty which
called the Russos “Ocean County’s most self serving and nefarious political
family.” Match that for “name-calling”.
Nefarious? “My Life Is Now Complete”, says Sen. Russo
“I’ve been called everything else, but I’ve never been called ‘nefarious’
before. My life is complete”, said Senator Russo, who arrived at the meeting
in time to hear Larsen’s comments.
“We Are Facing A Serious Financial Crisis”, Says Larsen
But the meeting also produced the first really intelligent comment that
Larsen has made since joining the township committee two weeks ago, and
possibly an important one if he follows through.
Larsen said the township faces a “budget crises that is very bad: we need to
spend the next six months being pro-active so that the damage can be
minimized”.
To Meet With Township Treasurer
Although he did not quantify anything, Larsen said he would meet soon with
township treasurer Dennis O’Neill to try and determine the extent of any
potential revenue shortfall, and see if there are areas of the budget that
can be trimmed before the end of the fiscal year on June 30th.
The current township budget contains the largest spending increase in
township history, a contingency that, oddly enough, has yet to be
acknowledged by any of the five current members of the committee.
Two members, “Mayor” John F. Russo and “Doctor” Township Committeeman John
Furey, voted against the budget, but it is unclear what that means as far as
township spending is concerned, because Furey made it clear that he was
voting “no” because he wanted to spend more “on recreation improvements and
more police.”
The total police budget was up by more than $2 million, a 15% increase that
was the largest in the history of the township. Furey wanted to make it
worse.
Maybe Larsen, billed as “the accountant” by Moriarty during the campaign,
can turn things around. Probably not, but he deserves credit for being
willing to try.
Other news from this meeting, including a report on an address by Ortley
Beach leader and OceanCountyPolitics Dot Commentator Dan Polifroni, will be
covered soon by OceanCountyPolitics•Com.
