Aldrich |
Dover Township - The former “mayor” who lied about his
complicity in the 1992 fiscal crisis (he blamed a $30 million
cumulative cash deficit on Governor Florio) is apparently at it again,
this time with a memorandum doctored to conceal its source at the
facilities of the Burlington County Highway Dept.
|

Haines |
Wnek’s co-conspirator in the alleged falsification of the facsimile
memorandum is lame duck DMUA chairman Leonard Hedinger, the DMUA
commissioner who helped doctor DMUA records to accommodate the
Aldrich-Haines job switch last Spring when Former “mayor” Clarence
Aldrich resigned his township committee seat to become a
superintendent at the DMUA, and DMUA Chairman Virginia Haines was
appointed to fill Aldrich’s committee vacancy.

Original Wnek Attack Document Was Apparently Doctored By Wnek And

John Broome |
Hedinger, to be replaced as DMUA Commissioner in February with former
NJ Deputy Attorney General John Sheehy, started his last meeting
Wednesday by reading segments of a document purporting to be the
original memorandum from Wnek attacking Authority Executive Director
John Broome.
The memorandum, which was prepared and launched from the facilities of
the Burlington County Highway department where Wnek is employed,
accused Broome of obtaining public information from town hall to be
used in defending the DMUA against a dissolution proposal made by
Democrat Committeeman Richard Larsen.
Haelig, At The Top Of Wnek-Hedinger Enemies List, Proposes $300,000
DMUA Savings Program
Wnek and Hedinger accused Broome of accessing the public data at the
request of Commissioner Robert K. Haelig Jr., who is apparently at the
top of their latest enemies list for proposing a $300,000 list of
possible DMUA cost savings at Tuesday’s township committee meeting.
According to the Asbury Park Press, Haelig’s $300,000 savings program
“seemed to anger several of the MUA employees and commissioners who
attended the meeting, especially his contention that the two alternate
commissioners’ jobs were unnecessary and were created for political
reasons.” (APP 1/23/03)
Hedinger And Wnek Charge Broome With Abusing
His Office By Obtaining Public Information
Broome acknowledged that public records were obtained from a variety
of public sources, but vigorously denied Wnek’s allegations that he
“may have violated the law” or “used or abused” his office for his
“personal agenda”. Wnek did not back up his charges with any
supporting information.
In fact, Wnek would not even admit that he worked at the Burlington
County Highway Department - and now we know why.
Wnek And Hedinger Helped Cause Major Fiscal Calamities In Township
And School System
Wnek is the “mayor” who helped precipitate the massive 1992 fiscal
crisis and then tried to blame his own culpability on former Governor
Jim Florio.
Wnek also issued a press release early in November where he exchanged
reciprocal lies with East Dover Little League President James Ansbach
and misrepresented Broome’s involvement in a bogus charge by Ansbach
in support of Democratic candidates.
Wnek was also implicated in the suppression of important DMUA
financial documents in July of 2001, and was a principal in the
Aldrich-Haines job switch scam last Spring.
Hedinger, former President of the Toms River School board, was a
primary factor in excessive spending by the school board in the
1980's, policies which led to a change in the administration and the
largest school tax increase in the history of Ocean County. Hedinger
is also a health insurance double dipper. (See today's O. C. Observer

Wnek Not Very Forthcoming
At Tuesday’s Meeting About
His “Place Of Business” (The Burlington Highway Department)
Q: Where
did this memo come from?
Wnek: "Where I work."
Q: What
telephone numbers are these?
Wnek: "My place of
business."
Q: What
place of business is that?
Wnek: "Where I work."
Q: Where
is your place of business?
Wnek: "In Burlington County."
Q: Who is
your employer?
Wnek: "That’s my business." |
Memo Distributed By Hedinger Is Different From The First One
The version of the memo originally faxed by Wnek phonied up important
telephone numbers and other data to conceal his use of Highway
Department facilities to launch the attacks on Broome and others.
After OceanCountyPolitics blew the whistle on the Burlington
Highway Department connection, Hedinger and Wnek tidied up Wnek’s memo
for public consumption by replacing the original falsified telephone
numbers and adjusting the other doctored parts to tidy things up.

That's What Got Nixon And Joe McCarthy In Trouble

Senator
Joseph McCarthy |

President
Richard Nixon |
That, of course, is the process that got former President Richard Nixon
and former GOP Sen. Joseph McCarthy in trouble. After all of this,
will GOP Boss R. C. Clement persist in his drive to make Wnek the
Chairman of the DMUA when the Authority reconvenes in February?
OceanCountyPolitics was not able to obtain a comment from
Burlington County Freeholder Vincent R. Farias, former Mayor of
Edgewater Park and Director Of Public Works for the Freeholder Board,
as to the Board's policy on the use of Highway Department facilities
to launch political attacks on agencies in other counties.
