Sen.
John Russo |
Finally, After Four Weeks, Some New Material
On “Doctor” Moriarty’s “Russo Watch” WebSite
Attacks Axis Of Greed Republi-Crat Coalition, Saying Senator Russo And GOP
Chairman Gilmore “Openly Conspired”, Truly A “Theater Of The Politically
Absurd”
Says Conspiracy Of “Betrayal Plot” Was
Launched In A Series Of “Secret Meetings” At Toms River Pizzeria
“Doctor” Jack Moriarty, the greedy Democrat publicist/political boss who
grabbed $51,000 in “consulting fees” out of the Richard Larsen campaign, has
added some new material to the Russo Watch WebSite he started after former
Senator John Russo jilted regular Democrats and acted with Republican County
Chairman George Gilmore and GOP Assemblyman James Holzapfel to establish the
Axis Of Greed political payoff administration in Dover Township.
|

"Mayor" John
Russo Jr. |
The new Republi-Crat consortium installed Russo’s son, John Russo Jr., as
the last “Mayor” prior to the 2003 election of a new Mayor and Council
approved by the voters in last November’s government change referendum, and
chose former Republican “Mayor” Carmine Inteso as Deputy “Mayor” for the
last year of the lame duck township committee.
Moriarty’s Russo Watch website, established immediately after the January
2nd organizational meeting, also apparently speaks for Larsen, Township
Committeeman John Furey, Municipal Chairman Jeffrey Horn, former candidate
Thomas Rodgers and former Chairman Christopher Colavito.
“I Don’t Like You Anymore” Said Furey
At The January 2nd Reorganization
Furey stood behind Russo Jr.’s chair on the dais at the reorganization and
said, among about a hundred other things: “I don’t like you anymore; you
don’t have any integrity”, echoing a comment by former “Mayor” Ray Fox a
couple of years ago about overboss Holzapfel.
Fox charged Holzapfel controlled Republican policy in Dover Township and
blamed problems of overdevelopment and excessive spending on Holzapfel who,
he said, “had no integrity.”
|

James Holzapfel |
Holzapfel Had “No Integrity”
But Fox Reappointed Him Anyway
But Fox went ahead and reappointed Holzapfel to his $6667 a month labor
counsel patronage appointment anyway after Holzapfel agreed to let Fox be
“mayor”, the same as Russo Jr. did at this year’s reorganization.
“How I Became A Republican Stoolie • • • Just Like My Daddy”
The Moriarty Website referred to the Russos as “the most self serving and
nefarious political family” in Ocean County and promised reports including
“How I became a Republican Stoolie • • • Just like my Daddy” and “What’s
mine is mine, what’s yours is mine, what’s theirs is mine, it’s all mine,
mine, mine” and “Thirty years of intimidation revealed.”
Although none of the promised “first hand” reports have yet materialized,
there is some new material which appeared recently which claims the Russo
“betrayal plot” began last August, well before the November election, after
which Horn charged Russo Sr. with conducting a “bullet vote” campaign for
Larsen, to the exclusion of candidate Rodgers, a charge that the Russos have
denied.
Moriarty Charges “Secret Meetings At A Local Toms River Pizzeria”
“It was then that initial plans were made in a series of secret meetings at
a local Toms River Pizzeria”, the Regular Democrat website says.
“By choice and design”, the Russos “had alienated all the locals” because of
a “penchant for hyperbole” and a “demand for absolute veto power over all
decisions, big and small”.
“Russo Jr. possessed none of the leadership skills and tenacity of his
Daddy”, the site says.
The new material, dosed with Moriarty’s usual injection of hypocrisy,
surfaced less than a week after Larsen and Furey joined with Russo Jr. and
the Republicans to kill the township’s in-house law department, a decision
made inevitable by the reappointment of Holzapfel and newly appointed #2
Township Attorney David Corrigan as labor counsels to share a bloated annual
labor counsel budget appropriation of $160,000.
Axis Of Greed Lawyers Decided To Kill The
Law Department Back In September
Instead of fixing the department by eliminating the more wasteful
expenditures like the $160,000 labor counsel appropriation mentioned above,
a move which would save money and give the township legal representation not
so directly connected with political patronage handouts, the Axis Of Greed
“Famous Lawyers” coalition that is now running the township decided to kill
the law department and turn its responsibilities over to an outside private
attorneys who will bill $125-$135 per hour.
After the meeting at which Holzapfel was reappointed to his $6667 monthly
annuity, Russo Jr., also an attorney, said Holzapfel has “provided service
at a very attractive rate for many years.”
