Larsen Made Misrepresentations to the Observer

OC Observer Wrongly Says All Five Members Of The Township Committee Join In Larsen-Furey Smear Of Broome And Haelig As Moriarty Cranks Up Character Assassination Campaign Through WebSite Operated By Racist Former South Toms River Councilman

Axis Of Greed And Legion Of Defamation Apparently Join Forces In Supporting Wnek Charges; Moriarty Adds OCPolitics Editor Schiff As New Target: Former STR Councilman Marshall Has Used Racist And Sexist Slurs To Fellow Council Member

A malicious but trivial smear that started with a petty records falsification that originated in Burlington County offices has ballooned into a full blown campaign of character assassination and a political conspiracy which may involve a number of  local officials.

The Ocean County Observer reported Saturday that the township committee voted “unanimously” on Wednesday “to begin proceedings to investigate the claims of committeemen John Furey and Richard Larsen” that utilities authority director John Broome accessed public real estate records to respond to a threat by Larsen and his attorney, Democrat chairman Jeffrey Horn, to file personal lawsuits against DMUA commissioners who criticized Larsen’s plan to dissolve the authority and use its capital reserves to cover deficits in the township’s bloated budget.

“I am very encouraged that my fellow committeemen recognize the seriousness of these charges”, Larsen pompously told the Observer following the “unanimous vote” by the committee.

Mayor Russo Falsely Accused Of Participating In Witch Hunt

The fact that the vote, according to Larsen and the Observer, was “unanimous”, means all  members of the township committee had joined the Witch Hunt started by DMUA commissioner and former “mayor” Paul Wnek and picked up by Larsen, Furey, Horn and Democrat publicist and local political boss, “Doctor” Jack Moriarty. The fact is that Larsen apparently misled the Observer into believing that all Committee Members were involved. This was not the truth! Mayor Russo was very angry that his name had been included even if not in fact, but by inclusion in the "unanimous" claim Larsen made in the Paper.

The smear was launched by Wnek and former commissioner Leonard Hedinger at the January DMUA meeting, but the most recent article from the Observer once again did not identify Wnek and Hedinger as the actual perpetrators of the lie campaign or the “charges” against Broome and Commissioner Robert K. Haelig Jr.

Hedinger and Wnek were angered at Commissioner Haelig who has been criticizing “excessive spending” at the authority. Haelig suggested a $300,000 program of cost reductions which was delivered in public at a township committee meeting.

Marshall Charges OCP With “Promoting Online Internet Pornography"

The situation was further complicated last week as Moriarty clone Stephen Marshall, a racist oddball who just completed a three year term on the South Toms River council, was ratcheted up by the Moriarty character assassination program by charging OceanCountyPolitics with “promoting online internet pornography” on a Web Site Marshall owns.

The Marshall SmearSite also made charges about Commissioner Haelig and OCPolitics Editor, Richard Schiff, and suggested that Haelig and Schiff “promote a company that makes light of rape”.

From The Gutter Into The Sewer

The Marshall-Moriarty charges are a figment of Moriarty’s malicious imagination and Marshall’s situation as a racist wacko, but Larsen and Furey, the other half of the Moriarty smear campaign, have yet to disassociate themselves from the latest descent from the gutter into the sewer.

Moriarty is Marshall’s publicist and the publicist for Marshall’s wife, Donna, who Moriarty ran as a losing candidate for the South Toms River Council in 2001 (she would have joined her husband on the council) so Moriarty could plunder the Democrat campaign treasury.

Moriarty laundered the bulk of the Donna Marshall campaign treasury through the Democratic National Committee, in the form of “in kind” contributions. The Donna Marshall campaign, plundered by Moriarty, spent $19,369.40, much of which was apparently paid, directly or indirectly, to Moriarty.

Moriarty performed the same kind of financial surgery on Larsen’s 2001 township committee campaign, glomming off more than $50,000 in “consulting fees” in less than eight months, more than five times as much as anybody has ever been paid for similar services in the history of Ocean County.

Marshall Harassed Mrs. Kearney With Racial Slurs
And Sexually Explicit Gestures

According to South Toms River Councilwoman Carla Kearney, who is black, Marshall harassed her with racial slurs while he was a member of the council, and has added sexually explicit gestures to his repertoire of bad behavior since his defeat in last November’s council election.

“His behavior is overtly racist, outrageously sexist and fundamentally insulting and cruel” said Mrs. Kearney, who is one of only two black elected officials in Ocean County.
