Berkeley Republicans Are Breathing A
Sigh Of Relief: Ralph Frulio Is Out Of Politics
Frulio
Appointed New Jersey Casino Control Commissioner
Berkeley Township:
Governor Jim McGreevey has appointed
Ralph G. Frulio to the New Jersey Casino Control Commission.
Frulio,
a Democrat, has been very active in the local Berkeley Township
political scene. Frulio ran Mayor Jason J. Varano’s successful
campaign in 1999, and the 2001 Ward campaign when the Democrats
enjoyed a clean sweep to gain complete control of the local
government.
Frulio
has also served as Chairman of the local Utilities Authority and
Chairman of the Planning Board. He has also been active in Little
League Baseball and the Central Regional H.S. Booster Club and he
plans to continue his work on the CRHS Diamond Club.
Frulio
First Commissioner With Casino Control Experience
Frulio
is the first Commissioner to be appointed with experience in gaming
regulation in New Jersey. He began as an Inspector for the Commission
in 1978 and retired as a Principal Inspector in 1997.
Casino Control Commission appointments
carry a prohibition against political involvement. So Frulio will not
be available to manage Mayor Varano’s re-election bid.

Nilda Frulio |
GOP’s Sigh Of Relief Short Lived
But the GOP’s sigh of relief may be
short lived because Frulio’s wife, Nilda, will be taking a leadership
role in this year’s election.
No slouch to the political scene, Nilda
Frulio is the current Vice Chair of the Ocean County Democratic
Committee. |
