Disses The Dover Utilities Authority Third Straight Year; Appointed DMUA Liaison, Furey Has Never Attended An Authority Meeting, And Never Toured DMUA Facilities, Despite Numerous Invitations To Do So

After Missing Three Consecutive Township Committee Meetings In April, Clueless Mayoral Candidate Has The Worst Attendance Record On The Governing Body For The Last Seven Months

DMUA Chairman Wnek Says The Door Is Always Open: “Dr. Furey is welcome any time”, Urges Errant Democrat To Attend Authority Meetings

Dover Township: “Doctor” John Furey, owner of the worst attendance record on the township committee, has also made it a habit to blow off any interest in his appointment as liaison to the Dover Municipal Utilities Authority.

Furey, the choice of “Doctor” John Moriarty and the Democratic organization to run for Mayor in November’s change of government election, has never attended a single DMUA meeting, and has never toured DMUA facilities despite numerous invitations to do so.

Furey, a noisy critic of the DMUA, has made numerous charges in connection with DMUA commissioners and policies, but has never set foot in the DMUA administration building on Water Street in Toms River.

“Dr. Furey is welcome at any time”, said DMUA Chairman Paul Wnek, “we can’t understand why he hasn’t accepted our invitations for a tour of authority facilities, and to attend our monthly meetings as the township liaison to the DMUA.”

Fiure, Inteso, Russo Jr. All Toured DMUA Facilities - But Furey Didn’t

Republican township committee members Michael Fiure, Carmine Inteso and Mayor John Russo Jr. have all toured the DMUA facilities, but Furey has been a holdout, despite his status as the Authority’s township committee liaison.

Furey was tagged with the worst attendance record on the committee after blowing off three straight township committee meetings in April on a vacation, his second extended absence in six months.

Missed Three Straight, Including Iraqi Freedom Recognition Meeting

Furey took off on vacation again, and missed the township committee meeting of Wednesday, April 23rd.

A week later, still apparently out of town, he blew off the township committee meeting of Tuesday, April 29th.

He also managed to miss the township committee meeting of Wednesday, April 30th, the rally in support of the the armed forces who represented Dover Township and Ocean County in operation Iraqi Freedom.

Absent Less?

Furey’s latest round of township committee absenteeism comes on top of his failure to attend what arguably were the two most important township committee meetings of 2002.

Even the owner of Mayoralty candidate Max The Puppet has a better attendance record than Furey, who has apparently been ordered to stay away from the DMUA by Democratic party boss Moriarty.
