Co-Conspirator, "Sacrificed Himself For The Community!!"
Editor, OceanCountyPolitics:
I read with total amusement of the "growing recall movement" here in
Dover. I have to ask, are the people supporting this recall the same
ones who supported the change of government initiative last year?
If they are, these folks need to sit down and reap what they have
sown. They have made their bed; now they must sleep in it. Many of us
folks who take politics seriously told everyone up front that this
change of government was pure folly and nothing more than a way to
change the rules so that folks who have been locked out of office via
the ballot box can now get back in the game.
Hence a Democrat getting elected in Dover under the guise of placing
an "I" next to his name instead of a "D".
Politicians Make Promises To Get Elected
Many of us knew that nothing was going to change; politicians have to
do and promise certain things to increase their chances of election
and re-election.
Some of those things seem rather unsightly and some what immoral
appearing to those who only follow politics from Labor Day to Election
Day.
To the rest of us who follow and study politics, we see a case of
status quo going on and no matter how you change the government and
recall the current bunch of incompetents, the next batch will do the
very same things to ensure they get to sit on the dais.
Change Of Government: Biggest Boondoggle In Township History?
After watching the actions of the new administration so far this year,
I feel totally vindicated that the change of government will do
nothing positive for the people of Dover. In fact, this change of
government could go down as the biggest boondoggle in our town's
history.
I have lived in Dover all of my life and I love this town. I just fear
that a bunch of money-grubbing political parasites are going to
decimate our town in the name of personal profits for themselves and
the funny part of it is that because so many people voted for change
of government, these people feel they have a mandate to pillage the
town's coffers because a majority of folks told the politicians that
they could.
Sad State Of Affairs
Sad state of affairs but it is the hand we were dealt. The bottom line
is starting a recall this soon after the change of government looks
petty and foolish. It looks foolish because folks had told you all
along that this was going to happen and yet it was supported by a
majority of Dover residents. We are going to spend the citizens tax
money on a recall election on an issue that should never been approved
in the first place with no assurance that the next crop of politicos
will be any better than the last batch.
Thanks, -
Rob Kulessa

Moriarty Rides Again - And Falls
Off The Horse Again
Editor's Note: The following
letter from former Dover Democratic Boss "Doctor" Jack Moriarty, is as self-serving as they come. But if it's good enough for

To the editor:
As Dover Township made a historic change
in government, citizens of the township owe a deep debt of gratitude to Committeeman
John Furey.
Furey Was Attacked
From The Left And The Right
In the heat of the campaign, as Furey
was being attacked from both the right and the left, he determined
that in order for the township to have the type of substantial change
it needed, he would best serve our needs by dropping out of the race
and supporting Paul Brush.
Had Furey not done this, John F. Russo
Jr. would have been elected mayor and the status quo would have
continued for four years.
Hopes "Selfless
Actions" Of Furey Translate Into Change
We hope the selfless actions of Furey
translate into real change for the future of our community. Furey
understood that, in order to make real change, feathers have to be
ruffled. He took his responsibilities as an elected official
seriously, sacrificing himself for the good of the community.
Let us hope the new vision mirrors the
important initiatives Furey put forward during his term of office.
Jack Moriarty - Dover Township
If
the gentle reader is still able to hold his food down after reading
this garbage, he should ponder the simple fact that the only
"responsibility" Furey really understood was the "responsibility" to
see that "Doctor" Moriarty got paid off first - every time. The last
Moriarty payoff, arranged by Furey as a condition for Moriarty's
departure, was the $50,594 payoff engineered as hush money through
Democratic Party Chairman Fred Potter, and disguised as "consulting
fees."
