A President Who Adheres To A Different GreedStream?
With the By-Laws changes, Clement also emasculated the office of club
president, making it subordinate to the Chairman of the Board in
virtually every way that counts - just in case the "membership" picks
a president who focuses on a different greedstream.
By-Laws Changes Adopted
Without Dissent
The By-Laws changes were adopted without dissent, like every other
time the club and its leaders have ignored the sensibilities of the
11,300 registered Republicans they are supposed to be representing.
The following policy statement, grandiloquently patterned after
Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, was supposedly prepared for delivery by
President Clement, but
OCP has not been able to
confirm that it was actually delivered, because we can't find anybody
willing to admit he stayed for the whole meeting:
The Get-His-Bread Address
"Four score and seven months ago, the Republican Club Board of
Directors made me President; conceived in gratitude and dedicated to
the proposition that kickbacks and payoffs are the highest form of
flattery, that some Republicans are created more equal than others.
"We are engaged in a great crusade, testing whether our own personal
desires, and those of our cronies, can exist in context with an
electorate that we have lied to repeatedly.
Met In Another Dark Corner
"We are met in another dark corner to launch our schemes, to dedicate
a portion of our loot and plunder to the unfinished task of
misrepresenting our accomplishments so the taxpayers will continue to
believe anything we tell them, especially the part about cutting the
costs of government as we continue to enrich our friends and cronies
who make up the bulk and substance of our membership.
"It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
Our Constituents, Dumb And Dumber
"But in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate these
resources, because our constituents, dumb and dumber, who have allowed
us to do this, posture to them and take their money under the
flimsiest of false pretenses, have already consecrated these
opportunities far beyond our poor powers of misrepresentation to add
or detract from their gullibility and misplaced trust.
Will They Remember? "We Have A Right To Hope - NOT"
"The world is preoccupied with its own troubles; we have a right to
hope it will little note nor long remember what we have done to enrich
ourselves and our cronies at taxpayers expense with the plunder we
have carted away - on top of the tax increases, deficit spending,
overdevelopment and traffic jams we have left as our legacy in the
wake of our service to the community.
"It is for us, the greedy and the privileged, rather to be dedicated
here to the unfinished work we are in: to suck the last possible
dollar from the public treasury; give everybody free double-dip health benefits
until we successfully drain the last drop of available sustenance from
the Republican taxpayers we claim to serve;
Honored But Disrespected Taxpayers
"But in these honored but disrespected Republican taxpayers, we take
an increased interest and pride, until they have finally and
generously given us the last full measure of financial devotion;
that we here highly resolve that this valued treasure shall not have
been given (or taken) in vain;
"That this Republican Club, under my benevolent leadership, shall have
a new birth of freedom for everybody but the taxpayers of Dover
Township and the
ratepayers at the DMUA - and that nepotism, undisclosed
conflicts-of-interest, greed by association and trashing of Republican
principles each and every day, shall not perish from the political
process I have tainted and contaminated."
Club officers will be elected at the regular monthly meeting in April.
GOP "Club" Ignores Obligations To The Rank And File
Stay tuned for Part V of the Boss Clement series, as

"Club" members who are even marginally concerned that Boss Clement has
been repeatedly violating the most important provisions of his own
Republican Club By-Laws, the parts devoted to the obligations of the
"Club" to thousands of rank-and-file Republicans the "Club" is
supposed to represent - but doesn't.
