Bricktown
Commentator Mentions Mayor Scarpelli
One of our Bricktown commentators
recalled the Tappan Zee Bridge Epiphany of Mayor Joseph Scarpelli, and
suggested that Scarpelli would be a worthy addition to the TOP TEN
WORST list.
Scarpelli "receives a salary of $65,000
(including benefits) drives a township white SUV around, mistakenly
using it as his personal vehicle and takes it on family adventures to
New England. Now he keeps the courtroom doors closed and doesn't
permit citizens to attend the special meeting on Traders Cove," the
observer comments.
Also mentioned by readers were public
officials in Lavallette, Lacey, Ocean Gate, the Central Regional
School Board, Jackson, the Toms River Regional School Board, Point
Pleasant, Seaside Heights, several Planning Boards, Barnegat, the 10th
Legislative District and, of course, Dover Township, the focus of
several recommendations.
The Clements Have A Lock On TOP TEN Pick?
Dover Municipal Utilities Authority Commissioner Deborah Clement
appears to be favored by a number of our readers for TOP TEN
designation.

GOP Boss Richard Clement |
She and her husband, Dover Township Republican Boss Richard Clement,
are mentioned more than all the rest put together, a status that
accelerated somewhat after the spending, payroll padding and patronage
circus at Wednesday's DMUA meeting (4/28), which OCP has not even
begun to cover adequately.

Inteso Was Pick #3 - Should He Be Reprieved??
There were a couple of readers who think that Councilman Carmine
Inteso, picked as one of the TOP TEN WORST largely on the strength of
one really bad stumble in an incident in Atlantic City back in 2002,
should be given a reprieve, and removed from the list of nominations
because he hasn't done anything really, really stupid in the past
eighteen months.
This proposal will receive consideration by our editorial board as the
process goes forward.

Other Prior TOP TEN Nominees Include Abe
Rodriguez, Virginia Haines, "Doctor" John Furey & Paul "Wacky" Wnek
Former Cover Township Comitteewoman Virginia Haines was added to the
TOP TEN WORST list shortly before the 2002 election, after violating
her oath of office about a dozen times, mostly as a commissioner and
Chairman of the Dover Municipal Utilities.
(Click
here for details on Ms. Haines TOP TEN designation)
More recently, Ms. Haines was rewarded by the Clements for her service
to humanity as a corrosively bad public official by her designation in
a contrived and self-serving "election" as "Sr. Vice President" of the
Dover Township Republican GreedClub.
Wnek And "Doctor" Furey
Wnek, then Republican Chairman of the Dover Municipal Utilities
Authority, was designated, as was former Democratic Township
Committeeman John Furey, in October 2003.

Furey)
The other nominations include South Toms River's Abe Rodriquez
(Click Here) and Stafford Township's Robert Sheppard
