Crony Feedings At The Freeholder Board: Patronage Exchange Program Goes Forward At Taxpayers Expense

Central Regional Board President Amato Named Director Of County Printing And Graphics Department At $68,606: Reportedly Will Name Prominent Republican Women's Fixture As $65,000 Assistant Business Administrator For Central Regional Schools

River City: Central Regional School Board President Carmen Amato has been named Director of the County Department Of Printing And Graphics by the board of freeholders.

Amato's salary will be $68,606 annually, the same salary he is receiving now as Assistant Supervisor of the Ocean County Board of Elections where he has worked since November 1994.

No Connection With Central Regional Republican Patronage

Although Amato will tell the public there is no connection, the rumor mill has it that the Central Regional School Board will name a prominent Republican Women's "leader" as Assistant Business Administrator for the Central Regional schools.

Nothing To Do With Need Or Cost To Taxpayers

The fact that the Central Regional School System does not need an "Assistant Business Administrator" will reportedly not make much difference to Amato and other Berkeley Republican "leaders" who are also associated with the Central Regional School Board.

R. Ciullo

Board Member Ciullo Published
Offensive And Profane Internet Material

Board member Richard Ciullo, for instance, a Vice President of the Berkeley Republican Club, is reportedly looking for a cushy job on the public pad, and has agreed to make the Women's Republican Federation appointment for the best possible reasons.

Ciullo is the renegade WebSite operator who offended parents and school children alike with his attacks on public sensibilities, and his use of offensive and profane internet material after last year's school election. (See prior article reference at the end of this story)

Exchange Program Will Go Forward

The exchange program will go forward in any event, local sources say, because the County Election Board does not need an Assistant Supervisor; and the Printing and Graphics Department certainly does not need a "Director" who has actual experience in printing and graphics work.

Substantive qualifications for these jobs are simply irrelevant; the taxpayers should be ashamed of themselves for thinking otherwise.

The lack of utility is hardly a disqualifier, and is a good reason for all three appointments to go forward because they share a common denominator of implied instead of actual benefits for the taxpayers.

Amato Got His Job The Old Fashioned Way

Amato got his job with the election board in the most legitimate way possible: he is a former mason's apprentice with a high school diploma who is associated with the Berkeley Republican Club.

Gilmore

His salary increases over the years have been truly spectacular (from a reported $14,800 in 1994 to the present $68,606) because of his enormous talent - and his willingness to extend himself as an errand boy for County Republican Chairman George Gilmore.

Pannucci Named Again To OCUA

In other school board news, Brick School Board member Frank Pannucci was apparently reappointed by the freeholders to a five year term as a Commissioner on the Ocean County Utilities Authority.

The OCUA, with one of the highest county sewer rates on the planet, has reportedly wasted more than $500 million over the last twenty years and, with Pannucci's continuing help, is reportedly willing to waste another $200 million when the time is right.

Leake Also Appointed

Also appointed to a five year term on the OCUA was County Consumer Affairs Director and prominent health insurance double dipper Kenneth Leake.

Frank Pannucci's son, Frank Jr., was appointed recently through the auspices of Republican Council President Steve Acropolis, to a $58,000 job associated with the tax assessor's office in Brick.

Acropolis' Son-In-Law Also On The Pad

Acropolis' son-in-law, Kevin Toye, was recently appointed to a $58,000 job in the county clerk's office, an appointment that has nothing whatsoever to do with the Pannucci or the Amato appointments, or the Republican Women's Federation appointment to be named when confirmation becomes available.

Berkeley Seniors Hear The News

In other Berkeley news twenty-seven Berkeley seniors reportedly required emergency medical assistance after hearing about the appointments enumerated above.

The identity of the Women's GOP leader on the public pad at Central Regional will be made public as soon as it is made public.
