Boss Tweed
Revisited In Dover Township
The new government in Dover Township is now dominated by a
Ring of Greed whose Bosses and their flunkies are
systematically looting the treasury of the local government.
|

"Hi • • I'm Fourth Ward Councilman
Greg McGuckin Esq, and I'm smiling because I really put one over
on the taxpayers I am now ripping off with the biggest spending
increase in township history. You see, I told the voters I have
lots of government experience, but I never told them it was as a
pay-to-play attorney whose law firm extracted a million dollars
from public treasuries in Ocean County last year, and that my
partner, Jerry Dasti, is the proprietor of one of the biggest
pay-to-play political slush funds in NJ. Happy April Fools Day
From Your Happy Go Lucky Council President!" |
The immediate symptoms are the lies and
cynicism and political handouts to dozens of greedy lawyers and
political hacks who have no real interest in the community.
Democrat Mayor And
Republican
Council Are A Ring Of Greed
Other immediate symptoms are the phony
posturing and finger pointing on the huge spending increase and huge
tax increase for which every elected official in Dover Township
(Democrat Mayor and Republican Council) are equally responsible.
|

"Hi • • I'm First Ward Councilwoman Maria
Maruca, a student of the Seaside Heights School Of Municipal
Finance. The Council and I have paid off a record number of
political hacks and cronies and political bosses in our first
year. We've wasted and squandered more taxpayers' money than any
local government in the history of Ocean County.
Happy April Fools Day!" |
No One To Speak For
The Taxpayers
Every ridiculous spending increase; every political payoff was agreed to by every member of the council
and the new mayor, leaving no one left to speak for the taxpayers.
And the duplicity of these same
officials has led to worst of all consequences in the township
affordable housing response: They have even tried to con the clergy,
making certain that the eventual outcome will be the worst and the most expensive for all involved.
Build 520 Apartments
To Get 95 Affordable Units - How Dumb Is That?
The approved construction for Pleasant
Plains (520 apartment units to get 95 affordable units) will not help
anybody except the millionaire developers who own the property.
Spending For
Political Payoffs And Crony Jobs
|

"Hi • • I'm Former Democratic Council
Candidate Neil Floor. I'd like to thank Mayor Brush and the
Republican Council for my useless $90,000 job with the township.
I know we all promised to cut spending, but that was during the
campaign. This is now. Happy April Fools Day!" |
The exponential increase in spending
for political payoffs and unnecessary jobs for political cronies of
the mayor and council has led to a $19 million problem, including a
$5.3 million problem at the DMUA where the $225 annual customer charge
is now in jeopardy along with the vanished financial integrity of the
political hacks who are now mismanaging our community.
It is horrible for me, as a
Democrat, to see the Ring of Greed that has robbed the local
Democrats of real leadership based on real Jeffersonian principles.
Fraternity Of
Pay-To-Play
As The Mayor Lies And
The Council Swears To It
Instead, the Local Democratic GreedClub
(just like the Republican GreedClub) is a fraternity of pay-to-play
cronies who have created a climate of collusion with the local GOP
Bosses that allows only for plunder and lies.
The recent lie by Mayor Brush was that
if he only had as much “surplus” as the people who preceded him, there
would have been no tax increase, his all-time record spending increase
notwithstanding.
Brush Off By
Only
$6 Million
|

"Hi • • I'm Republican County Chairman
George Gilmore. I have more than 1,400,000 reasons to be
grateful to the taxpayers for my prosperity and my padded
$100,000 pension.
Happy April Fools Day - Suckers!" |
The budget numbers show he was only off
by a factor of $6 million on this preposterous claim: the tragedy was
that no one corrected him; not his Republican co-conspirators on the
council; and not the newspapers who take everything he says at face
value, without questioning the accuracy of what he says, even when the
lies are obvious, as this one was.
The Ring of Greed plunders the
local treasuries, the body politic and the political process,
unafraid of censure by either political party because they are the
worst and greediest elements of BOTH parties.
Criticize Them,
And You Get Smeared!
|

"Hi • • I'm Boss Rick Clement. My specialty
is intimidating Republicans I don't like. I am very good at
threatening the citizenship rights of anybody who disagrees with
me, especially if they have done nothing wrong. Happy
New Year."
|
And if you dare to criticize them, you
are subjected to a Boss Clement smear campaign, a cascade of lies and
attempted intimidation that would make Richard Nixon blush.
Nothing the equal of this has existed
since the 1890’s and the infamous Boss Tweed Ring at Tammany
Hall. You may have seen Martin Scorcese’s film, The Gangs of New
York in which Tweed was portrayed.
Just Like The Tweed Ring
How interesting to me that the
Tweed
Ring was ultimately run out of existence with the help of
Morristown, New Jersey cartoonist, Thomas Nast.
Nast’s cartoons of the corruption
spoils of the Tweed Ring brought public attention to the graft
and payoff-ridden city of New York.
My Grandfather Grew
Up
In New York's Tenderloin
His cartoons also inspired me to
draw cartoons, as a child. I was exposed to his work by my
Grandfather, who grew up in Manhattan’s “tenderloin” during those
Tweed years. My Grand-Dad later attended The Cooper Union and
graduated as an Architect and Engineer in 1908.
I would only hope that my cartoons have
helped to show people the need to withhold reverence from those in
authority who are disrespectful of the citizenry they serve.
Ring Of Greed Has
Eradicated The Two
Party System In Ocean County
|

"Hi • • I'm Democratic County Chairman Fred
Potter. I go along to get along. I say 'What's in it for me?" I
laugh at the taxpayers all the way to the bank. I helped the
Republicans win in 2004 - Just to be cooperative • • and
systematically greedy. Happy April Fools Day!" |
Ocean County’s Ring of Greed
has eradicated the two party system and, in its place, established a
conspiracy of political payoffs and lies that are a threat and a base
insult to every taxpayer.
Taxpayer Base Is
Plundered
By Political Payoffs
The whole taxpayer base is being
plundered for the division of spoils which are your hard-earned
dollars, by the way.
Between the deficit being run up by the
Mayor of Dover and the Dover Town Council, and the deficit being run
up by the Ring of Greed commissioners on the DMUA, Dover
Township faces a $20 Million combined deficit, the relative dimension
of which parallels the deficits run up by the federal government in
its worst years.
Taxpayers Must
Respond With Indignation
Taxpayers must be represented with a
slate of candidates to replace discredited incumbents who are coming
up for election in November of the new year.
Loyal Democrats and loyal Republicans,
who place principles of their respective parties first, must rise to
the occasion and offer themselves as candidates to challenge incumbent
members of the Ring of Greed.
There is some hope. This election
coming up in November can wrest control from the Ring Of Greed
majority of the Council and restore good government.
Boss Government
Should Go - We Simply Can't Afford It
The time should be past for allowing
important institutions of Government to be filled with patronage
cronies, stooges and people who lie in their campaigns and then do as
the bosses order them when they are elected.
Clean out the Bosses once and for all.
Be a Pioneering people, stoke up that patriotic fervor and push hard
for a switch.
We can clean up the government and keep
it that way!
