Palino-Morey Is Outspent 15-1

Ciullo And Gilmore Continue
To Pollute And Cheapen The Political Process In Berkeley
With More Obvious 1st Ward Lies On Behalf Of Mrs. Davis

One of the jobs of the media is to act as referee and try to work towards a level playing field in election contests.

First Ward Berkeley voters have a problem in the Republican primary election between official party line candidate Karen Davis, backed by County Chairman George Gilmore, and challenger, former Councilwoman Janet Palino-Morey.

Hired Gun Ciullo Is Not A Straight Shooter

The problem is that the Davis mailers are prepared by Central Regional School Board member Richard Ciullo, a Gilmore hired gun who is anything but a straight shooter.

Karen Davis

Problem is the Davis fliers are full of distortions and lies put there by Ciullo and Gilmore to try and protect political patronage they get from a school system controlled by the GOP.

A Lot At Stake In 1st Ward GOP Primary

The 1st Ward GOP primary is the only game in town, because in the unlikely event Palino-Morey beats the party line after being outspent 15-1, Gilmore would suffer a big loss of prestige, and the Berkeley Republican GreedHog would go back to the shadows and likely lose some of their lock on school board patronage next year.

Three Major Misrepresentations In Latest Davis Fliers

There are numerous Ciullo distortions and two major new misrepresentations in the latest Davis flier, so Berkeley voters deserve the facts before they vote on Tuesday:

 • Ciullo-Davis claims a 40% sewer rate increase "caused by unqualified commissioners in the current administration." The truth, of course, is the sewer rate went up 15%; the increase was caused almost entirely by the County Utilities Authority whose commissioners are approved by Gilmore.

As A School Board Member, Davis Handed Yezzi $2 Million In No-Bid Contracts

 • Ciullo-Davis claims pay-to-play patronage costs taxpayers "millions of dollars per year" and promises to "put an end" to it. The truth, of course, is that Ciullo, GOP Chairman Amato, Gilmore and school board member Davis were responsible for the bulk of the "pay-to-play patronage" in Berkeley, especially the $2 million payoff in architectural fees for Dover Republican committeeman Massimo Yezzi.

  • And in another major lie designed to cover up their own greed by demonizing the Democrats, Ciullo-Davis says the Berkeley property tax revaluation was ordered by "Democrats in Trenton," when they know perfectly well the Reval was ordered by the County Board Of Taxation, an agency that is controlled by Gilmore and the Republican freeholders.

Voted For Every Spending And Tax Hike

Davis has been on the Berkeley school board for eight years, and she voted for every tax increase and every spending hike.

For this reason, it is disingenuous for Davis to call for such things as "zero based budgeting," and say she will "address HIDDEN TAXES," when the only hidden tax to address is the one from the culture of greed personified by Gilmore and his small army of greedy lawyers and "professionals," most of whom are card carrying Republicans.

Davis Works For Pay-To-Play Firm That Audits Schools

Davis is employed by the largest pay-to-play no-bid accounting firm in Ocean County. The firm served as auditor for Berkeley schools while Davis was a school board member, and is located in the same building as Gilmore's law firm in Toms River.

Same OCP Rules For Palino-Morey

We hope these clarifications are helpful. If former Councilwoman Palino-Morey mails anything with misstatements of fact, you can be sure we will bring you the truth with the speed of sound & fury.
