Former Central Regional Board Member Richard Elliott Says First Ward Candidate Karen Davis, Eight Years On Berkeley School Board, "repeatedly Sold Us Out To Republican Pay-To-Play Politics

Davis A Ringleader Approving Nearly $2 Million
In No-Bid Contracts For GOP Architect Yezzi

Karen Davis

Editor's note: Richard Elliott's statement was sent to local media shortly after the Ward I GOP primary election where party line candidate Karen Davis, an eight-year Berkeley School board member, narrowly defeated former township committee member Janet Palino-Morey by 36 votes.

Central School Board Member, CyberCreep Richard Ciullo

Mrs. Davis' primary campaign was managed by Republican Chairman Carmen Amato, Central School board President and Berkeley Ward II Council candidate; and Richard Ciullo, also a Central Regional school board member, Vice President of the Berkeley Republican Club and operator of two websites removed from the internet after publishing offensive personal material which included false statements about critics of Berkeley GOP propaganda.

Mr. Elliott's letter follows:

As a former school board member, I can’t help but wonder if the Karen Davis who was on the party line with the super-rich county Republican organization but nearly lost the Republican council primary in Ward I, is the same Karen Davis who was a member of the Berkeley School Board for the past eight years.

Davis Promised To  "Eliminate Wasteful
Spending" After Handing Yezzi Nearly
$2 Million From Berkeley Schools

Was Yezzi's $2 Million "the most wasteful spending in Berkeley history?"

After the primary election, she said she wanted to be a council member so she could “eliminate wasteful spending,” but as a Berkeley School Board member, she was one of the ringleaders approving nearly $2 million in no-bid contracts for architect Massimo Yezzi, representing the most wasteful spending in the history of Berkeley Township.

Carmen Amato: Was Central Regional Board President And "Poster Boy For Political Payoff System"

The same Karen Davis takes direction from Republican Chairman Carmen Amato, the Central Regional School Board President who is a poster boy for the political payoff system with his useless county job as “Director of Printing & Graphics” that costs the taxpayers $85,000 a year.

Davis Employed By "Largest
Pay-To-Play Accounting Firm

The same Karen Davis who works for the biggest pay-to-play accounting firm in Ocean County, the same accounting firm appointed auditor for the Berkeley School Board. Is this a conflict?

Davis And Amato Approved Appointment Of GOP
Attorney Who Gets Millions From GOP Freeholders

The same Karen Davis who appointed Jack Sahradnik attorney for the Berkeley School Board, the same Republican lawyer who bills the county more than $700,000 a year and approved Amato’s useless $85,000 county job. Is this another conflict?

Karen Davis had eight years to “eliminate wasteful spending” in the school system, but she blew the chance and wasted more money instead of less.

Despite Party Line, Nearly 50% Of First
Ward Republicans voted Against Davis

Close First Ward Primary Despite Gilmore Blessing

Janet Palino-Morey Lost GOP Primary By 36 Votes

That’s why nearly 50% of First Ward Republicans voted against her in the primary election, despite her ballot position on the Republican party line.

Now the Republican bosses want to inflict candidates Davis (Ward I) and Amato (Ward II) on the taxpayers of Berkeley with a platform of misrepresentations and outright falsehoods.

Elliott: "I don't think the taxpayers will buy it again" After Davis And Amato Sold Out To pay-To-Play Politics

This is the same crew that repeatedly sold us out to Republican pay-to-play politics in the schools and the county. I don’t think the taxpayers will buy it again.
