Morris-Lacey Scam?
To the editor:
We need to have at least the top HUNDRED names and stories if we are
ever going to be able to put the pieces of the corrupt puzzle
together.
Maybe in the end we need a dictionary sort of listing by town of
every single office holder, town employee, player, etc. so that
people can add their own words about their experiences dealing with
said "employees" of ours!
And of course let them all respond to their critics in the interest
of fairness.
We also need to organize all of the personal financial data we can
about these folks. Our state disclosure laws are a joke and of
course it would be beyond politicians' ability to change that
course.
We need to keep track of everything we stumble into.
Try this. Sharpe James, Mayor of Newark and State Senator and former
gym teacher, seems to have half a dozen "summer homes" across the
state.
The one he "purchased" but no one around here can track in a
Hanovian development in Bayville, was recently listed by Diane Turton
for $899,000. The mayor never used the place though I did see his
yellow Rolls Royce in the driveway once and I would love to know
where all of his obviously profitable land holdings are -- and
however did he get them on his relatively meager income? Neither
the Star Ledger nor the APP have pursued the information provided. I
will forward a copy of the actual listing for your perusal.
And my friends from out of State swear the Sopranos is one big blown
up cartoon!
