The reaction has been swift and sharp from independent candidates Bob
Silva and Walter Seymour to claims by Republican council incumbents
that they were not responsible for the record spending increase and
near-record tax increase approved last December.
They Can Run But They Can't Hide
"They can lie all they want," said Seymour and Silva, "but they
approved every nickel of ridiculous spending that added up to a
disaster for Dover Township taxpayers."
"The Republican council spends money like drunken sailors," the Rescue
Dover candidates said.

Brian Kubiel |
Kubiel and Maruca claimed in published literature and on canned
telephone messages they were opposed to the record spending increase
and tax hike, even though they supported every spending initiative of
the council.
Useless Appointments For Gilmore And Fiure
"They voted for the useless $90,000 job for Councilman Fiure (the one
the Asbury Park Press said 'stinks'), Silva and Seymour noted; "and
they were right there to vote for the ridiculous $90,000 appointment
of County Chairman George Gilmore to make changes to the township
administrative code."

county job "stinks" |
"All of the bad things that hurt the taxpayers during the last two
years were endorsed by Maruca and Kubiel and the rest of the
Republican council members," Silva and Seymour noted.
"After approving a huge waste of taxpayers funds, including money
squandered on forty pay-to-play lawyers, three of them cast a
meaningless, hypocritical negative vote on the final budget, possibly
the most disingenuous single vote in the history of Dover Township,"
Silva and Silva said.
Throw Them Out With The Speed Of Light
"These phonies should be thrown out of office with the speed of
light," Silva and Seymour said.
