The Voice You Hear Is Brick Mayoral Candidate Acropolis As He Ran For Freeholder - Story Now

Hype, Lies And Greed In Brick

Councilman Acropolis

Chairman Gilmore

Brick GOP Councilman Acropolis With His Foot In His Mouth Again As Affiliate Of Greedy Liars Brigade

Township Of Brick - Stephen Acropolis, the Brick councilman who is running for mayor against incumbent Joseph Scarpelli, launched into a tirade at Tuesday’s council meeting about the OceanCountyPolitics HardCopy newspaper received in the mail by 30,000 Ocean County residents last week.

Greed And Corrupt Power Of Acropolis & Gilmore

It seems some Brick Republicans didn’t much like the HardCopy because it drew attention to the greed and corrupt power of Acropolis and County Chairman George Gilmore, as well as Gregory McGuckin, the greedy pay-to-play lawyer who is a councilman in Dover Township, and other fake Republicans.

In a smear and intimidation campaign coordinated by Gilmore, Acropolis railed at OCP editor Richard Schiff, and said he withdrew advertising from the HardCopy publication in 2003 after he “learned that Schiff had ‘ties’ to pornography and the drug culture.”

Acropolis added that he “didn’t have anything to do with OCP” after learning of the “ties” and blasted Scarpelli for his current advertisement in the OCP publication.

Virtually Every Word Uttered By Acropolis Was False

The only problem for the Republicans was that virtually every word uttered by Acropolis at the council meeting on the subject of OCP was a blatant falsehood: Schiff has no “ties” to “pornography” or the “drug culture.” The same charges were completely discredited in 2003 while Acropolis was running for the Brick council.

In fact, there was a front page story on the smear charges in the same HardCopy issue where Acropolis’s 2003 campaign ad appeared for the second time the week before the 2003 election.

Acropolis’ 2003 campaign did not “withdraw” anything from OCP; it extended the advertising to the last 2003 issue, and credited the OCP publications with helping them win all four seats contested that year.

Nobody Has To Take OCP's Word For It

But the piece de resistance of the whole pack of false statements from Acropolis and a couple of other Republican council-liars is that nobody has to take the word of OCP that Acropolis is lying again.

Nearly two months after Acropolis claims he “withdrew advertising” and “wouldn’t have anything to do with OCP," Acropolis was running for freeholder to replace the late freeholder Jim Mancini.

Acropolis Says OCP Is "A Great Resource
For The People Of Ocean County"

On Friday, December 5, 2003, Stephen Acropolis popped into the OCP office in Toms River and engaged in a cordial interview with editor Schiff and, far from denouncing OCP as “pornography,” Acropolis was effusive in his praise of OCP as “a great site, a great resource for the people of Ocean County to find out what’s going on.”

“It’s great to be here; I follow OceanCountyPolitics a lot,” Acropolis told Schiff.

Check out the video of the interview that took place nearly two months after Acropolis says he had "nothing to do with OCP:"
