$70,000 Election Board "Job" For McGuckin's Wife, $600,000 Vasil
"Settlement, Brush 178% Salary Increase
The following editorial by Commentator Joe Haelig was also
published last week in the OC Observer and the Toms River Times:
Contempt for Toms River taxpayers by
Democrat Mayor Paul Brush and Gregory McGuckin, president of the
all-Republican Council, has never been more visible.
Newspapers Call It
"Legal Bribery"
Newspapers call it “legal bribery” when
taxpayers money is used to corrupt the political process.
When Council President McGuckin and the
Township Council voted unanimously to approve a 178% salary increase
(from $27,000 to $75,000) for Brush, it certainly smelled like a
“legal bribe” payoff was perpetrated against Toms River residents.
Brush Salary Increase
A Factor In Gilmore OTB Cover-Up
|

Mayor Brush Got 178% Salary Increase ($27,000
To $75,000) From McGuckin & Gilmore |
After all, why did the Mayor hide the
May 30th OTB notice and keep silent for the entire 45 day
“review period,” if it wasn’t to hand money to Republican County
Chairman George Gilmore, lawyer for the OTB applicants?
Why would Mayor Brush fail to provide
the loyal opposition and two party dialogue the taxpayers deserved on
the OTB and numerous other issues
Why Were They All
Silent On
$600,000 Vasil Settlement?
Why, with two sitting attorneys, did the
town council, including Republican Michael Fiure, facing serious
ethics charges, and pay-to-play lawyer McGuckin, Council President,
sit idly by while Mayor Brush “settled” a $600,000 giveaway lawsuit
with taxpayers money back in May
Why didn’t Council President McGuckin,
who said “the council did not approve the insurance settlement,”
inform the public and admit back in May the lawsuit was “settled?
Why Did Election Board
Chairman Gilmore Hand
McGuckin's Wife A $70,000 Election Board "Job?"
Also, why did Chairman George Gilmore,
who is also conveniently County Election Board Chairman who benefited
financially from Brush and McGuckin’s silence on the OTB issue, create
a $70,000 a year job at the Election Board for McGuckin’s wife with
Brush and other Democrats never saying a word
The Whole Thing Reeks
Of Greed And "Legal" Bribery
You know something, all of these issues
reek of greed and “legal bribery” for political services rendered and
taxpayers money squandered.
