Boss Gilmore Salivates At
Prospect Of Similar Payoffs - For HIM - If Christie Is
Governor
U. S. Attorney and former George Bush fund raiser Chris Christie
was the favorite to run for governor against the liberal
Democrat incumbent, Jon Corzine.
Christie kept his investigations out of Ocean County except for
token Democrats like former Mayor Joe Scarpelli of Brick.
Christie never scratched Boss Gilmore's political machine, and
was promised the nomination by Gilmore, the most powerful
Republican Boss in New Jersey.
But serious questions have been raised about Christie's ethics,
including raised eyebrows about the $52 million payday for
former Attorney General John Ashcroft.
