The corruption of Stafford
Township by Mayor Carl Block and Boss George Gilmore took
another step into the gutter step last week with the
appearance of a flyer from “The Block Team” that tries to
tie Block’s opposition to the policies of Governor Jon
Corzine.
Mayor Block and Boss Gilmore
raised Stafford taxes 300% in ten years, and wasted
truckloads of taxpayers money on dozens of political
payoffs, including a hugely inflated pension for Boss
Gilmore paid for by Stafford taxpayers.
Block And Gilmore Hide
Stafford
Corruption And Greed
Block and Gilmore need a
scapegoat to draw public attention away from their
corruption and greed, so the flier cites bogus “facts” to
make the phony charge that mayoral candidate John McMenamin
is a “Trenton Democrat” and a “close ally of Governor
Corzine.”
“John McMenamin Wants You To
Believe He’s One Of Us. But The Facts Prove He’s One Of
Them,” the flier claims, as it qualifies as a typical
Gilmore smear sheet.
McMenamin Got The Support
Of Traditional Republicans
The fact is that John
McMenamin does not know Governor Corzine; does not support
Corzine’s policies, and will not vote for Corzine for
another term as Governor.
The Gilmore-Block smear flier
also conveniently leaves out the fact that McMenamin is
strongly supported by the Traditional Republicans of Ocean
County that got 46% of the vote in the 2008 Republican
primary election.
The Gilmore-Block smear flier
is a pack of lies. Voters are urged to look past the lies
and personal smears coming from the Block re-election
campaign, and focus on the need for a complete change in
Stafford when they vote in Tuesday’s local election.
McMenamin Ticket Is In
